Local Attractions

Thorpe Park Lodges provides the ideal base to explore the whole of the East Midlands including Lincolnshire and Nottinghamshire with easy access to main thoroughfares and a wealth of local amenities and activities.

Lincoln Cathedral and Castle

The city of Lincoln itself is steeped in roman Roman history and home to one the finest medieval gothic cathedrals in Europe which was used as a film set in Dan Browns Da Vinci Code.

Lincoln no doubt boasts a fantastic history with visible evidence all around. In the late 11th century, William the conqueror commissioned the construction of Lincoln castle which guarded routes to many surrounding Norman villages and is home to one of the four copies of the Magna Carta.

Today the Castle hosts many events, exhibitions, concerts and the famous Lincoln Christmas Fair.

Food and Entertainment

The Engine Shed is a top class national entertainment and live music and performance venue on the Brayford Pool waterfront.

Lincoln and Newark boast numerous restaurants ranging from the traditional to the contemporary. For a sedate experience, why not sample some of the culinary delights of the smaller villages like the idyllic Five Bells pub & restaurant in Bassingham? The younger student crowd add a vibrant and gregarious feel to the clubs and pubs in the heart of the city centre.

Adjacent to Thorpe Park Lodges is a challenging nine hole golf course suitable for both the novice player and advanced professional.

Onsite you will find a shop, bistro and a floodlit driving range. All stays at Thorpe Park Lodges include unlimited access to Thorpe Park Golf Course.

The central attraction at the heart of the site is a restful and picturesque lake which is the centrepiece of the lodge site. The lake is well stocked with fish to cater for all levels of anglers from first timers to more experienced practitioners.

The fountain creates not only an enticing visual but aerates the waters for the benefit of vegetation, fish and other wildlife. Owners and guest alike can enjoy complimentary use of the 30 peg fishing lake.

Water sports and jet skiing is only a stones throw away. A fully equipped fitness centre with pool is also a five minute drive from Thorpe Park Lodges.

Motorsports lovers can find Donnington park and Cadwell Park is only round the corner with many events regularly on the calendar. If you are looking for a more hands on experience you can spend a day at the 1.2 km championship Go Karting Course which is only a 20 minute drive away.

Relax and Pamper

For those looking for a spot of pampering, relaxation and happiness why not book a session in the pamper parlour? Adjacent to Thorpe Park Lodges is a beauty centre where you can seek sanctuary in a truly relaxing environment. For total sensory satisfaction, you can experience luxurious pleasure in sumptuous surroundings at Nottinghamshire's award winning Eden Hall day Spa.

There are plenty of attractions in the locality to keep the young ones occupied. A day trip to the Woodside falconry, Randside Animal Park or Funfarm Play Centre are just a few.

Red Arrows

Lincolnshire is home to Red Arrows. You will regularly experience an impromptu training display and practice run which never ceases to amaze. In addition, the RAF Waddington Air Show usually held once a year is one of the UK's biggest.

The coast is only an hour away from good old Skegness to Whitby Bay.
